FAQ

Below is a list with frequently asked questions. If your question is not on this list, feel free to contact us!

Where can I park?

There are parking spaces on the boulevard in front of The Shore, and 200 meters next to The Shore is a large parking lot next to the Beach Sports Stadium.

In the harbor area you can park for free until 6 pm, which is a 5-10 minute walk depending on where you are.

How far in advance do I have to be present?

Our lessons start with a bit of theory, so it is not necessary to change clothes before the lesson starts.

If you’re there 5 minutes in advance, that’s perfectly fine.

For the surf kidz / Action Academy it is nice if you are there a little earlier, because they immediately put on their wetsuits.

Are there showers and changing rooms at the surf school?

There are warm outdoor showers (heated by solar water heaters, so completely eco).

We have spacious changing rooms with compartments for your belongings. We are happy to personally guard your valuables during your surf lesson.

In what ways can I pay?

You can pay with cash, pin, gift card and credit card. If you want to exchange a service or something else for a surf lesson, that is also negotiable.

Do classes continue when it rains?

Of course we will continue if it rains! You get wet anyway. Lessons will only be canceled if it is wind force 7 or harder or in case of thunderstorms, we have to make another appointment in consultation.

Do classes continue when there are no waves?

If there are no waves, we cancel at the latest the morning before the lesson, but usually the day before. We will then move the lesson to another date in consultation. For company outings and children’s parties, we can offer an alternative if desired, which is experienced as just as fun as the surf lesson. School lessons for education always continue, unless the teacher indicates in advance that he or she wants to move if there are no waves.

Do you have to bring your own wetsuit and surfboard?

No, all materials are included in the lesson. We have wetsuits in all sizes. The Surfboards have a soft top and soft fins, especially for beginners. In the early and late season we have shoes, gloves, and a cap (kind of surf hat).

What should I bring?

Just a towel and swimwear. Tight swimwear is most convenient, because you will put on a tight wetsuit over it. If you use medication for something (such as exercise-induced asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, etc) and you normally use them during sports, you should also take them with you. Give it to the instructor at the start.

Are you also open in the evening?

Yes, we sure are. 7 days per week! Call during the day if you want to rent, because if there are no waves we will go home a little earlier. We also give surf lessons in the evenings.

Are there fixed times for classes?

We only have fixed lessons for kids and for the Progression Sessions, all other lessons are by appointment at a time that suits you!

Is there a minimum or maximum age to learn how to surf?

No, surfing is for everyone! However, the participant must be able to swim 50 meters independently or be in possession of swimming diploma A.
